Kidz Kare is a one-stop resource to support parents on their journey in raising healthy, happy and knowledgeable individuals. We are looking for an educator to teach basic skills including literacy, numeracy, natural and social science, music, art and behavioural skills to children in the young school age phase to advance their physical, mental, and social development and maximize their potential in a positive and safe environment. Camp weekly themes have been preplanned and will be shared with the employee to help in execution of the program. Our private Kinder program is a mix of JK and SK with a focus on High Scope Curriculum intertwined with the Ontario District School Board Curriculum.


  • Plan a program that helps each student achieve learning objectives and curriculum goals
  • Prepare lesson materials and resources
  • Select and use instructional methods and materials appropriate to the students and learning activities
  • Utilize games, music, books, art and other resources to teach basic skills and foster student development
  • Adapt standard teaching methods to meet different student needs and interests
  • Create a positive and appropriate classroom environment that is conducive to learning
  • Develop and implement a suitable classroom management system
  • Establish and effect rules for acceptable behavior
  • Meet guidelines laid out in Kidz Kare’s Program Statement
  • Instruct children on self care
  • Encourage cooperative social behaviour through games and activities
  • Observe, evaluate and record children’s social and academic progress
  • Provide constructive feedback to parents and administration
  • Prepare and distribute written reports
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are clean and safe
  • Collaborate with other staff members to promote the general health of the daycare
  • Uphold the school code of conduct and all school policies, rules and procedures in a supportive and positive manner


  • Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior)
  • Current Standard 1st Aid and CPR-C certification
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Passion for working and educating children in a fun and creative manner
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Some knowledge on how to use Microsoft office programs (Word, Office, Outlook etc.)
  • Good organizational, time management skills
  • Open-minded, teachable, dedicated to excellence, driven, creative and organized
  • Ability to multi-task and work on various projects and meet strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen
  • Knowledge of TDSB Kindergarten curriculum
  • Up to date immunization history
  • Ability to obtain clear valid Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen

Above & Beyond

  • Ability to obtain valid Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen
  • Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act
  • OCT Diploma
  • Knowledge of High Scope Curriculum

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Permanent

Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
All employees are required to wear a mask and face shield while on the premises, as per direction from our governing bodies. All staff will be screened prior to entry into the centre.
